I'm back and I'm pissed

Just back in town and got a chance to catch up on the AHS podcasts. I don't have much to say about the shows on forgiveness or sacrifice. Allen basically gives a predictable sermon on these two topics. Nothing much of interest either way there. Although he does give an interesting contrast between the selfless and heroic Fulton Co. fireman who died in the line of duty and that sleazy looking ambulance chaser who exposed a good chunk of the Western Hemisphere to XDR TB all because he didn't want to lose visitation rights to his gf's Prada-lined vagina.

What's really crawling around under my skin like untreatable TB is Allen's stunningly ignorant show on evolution ("Evolution: Redefined").

A quick summary of the show would be this:

I'm Allen Hunt, and I'm a preacher. I am not a biologist. I'm not a chemist. I'm not a physicist. In fact I have no training in science whatsoever. However I propose that I can evaluate whether the claims of science are true or not. You see, I have studied the mythology of pre-literate Semitic nomads from the ancient Near East, and I believe these folktales are infallible concerning issues of biology, genetics, biochemistry, geology, anthropology, and cosmology. Certainly science may be of some auxiliary use to us, but only so far as it doesn't conflict with my book of stories. Of course, there is no evidence that any of this is true, but it doesn't matter. I have faith.

JESUS CHRIST ALREADY. I am so pissed I can hardly type. Allen sneeringly rejects the mountains of incontrovertible scientific evidence, the years of rigorous research, the life's work of some of the most brilliant people God has ever put on earth, all because it doesn't line up with his precious little book. Really, I'm fucking enraged by this. And the rubes loved him for it. They were lining up to call him and agree with this stupidity. I didn't hear ONE call from a scientist or pro-evolution person on the whole show. Un-fucking-believable.

I guess Allen foolishly thought he could slip this bit of stupidity in on the listening public while I was out of town, but I'm back now and it's time Allen had his lies and half-truths exposed.
